It's always tough to tell how difficult installing a recessed medicine cabinet in a bathroom will be until you demo everything and see what's behind the existing walls. In this video, I demonstrate the installation of one of my favorite recessed medicine cabinets made by Kohler.
The first thing you need to figure out is whether the bathroom wall that you plan to install a recessed medicine cabinet is load bearing or not. You can determine this by looking at floor above and seeing whether floor joists or ceiling joists are divided on top of the wall. If they are, then you need to install a header above the recessed cabinet opening. This video demonstrates an installation in an interior wall that is NOT load bearing.
