Good morning, students!
If you are remodeling a bathroom and have everything gutted to studs, I highly recommend you replace the existing paper faced insulation. The paper face is supposed to be a vapor barrier, but all too often I see mold growing on the surface. Bathrooms are humid spaces!
5 main reasons I like using mineral wool:
- Higher R-value (R-15 verses R-13 for traditional insulations)
- Very easy to install
- Water does not ruin it
- Superior fire resistance
- Excellent sound insulator
