Hey students!
I ran into an unexpected problem on this particular job I did last year. I was converting a bath tub into a walk-in shower for older clients. When I removed their tub, I saw this goofy set-up.
The copper pipe was on top of the subfloor, which was not good. I needed to reconfigure the plumbing, and that is where PEX saved the day.
I removed part of the subfloor and wall so I could re-plumb the hot and cold with copper piping. In the video, I demonstrate all the tools I used to make this possible (the links of those tools are listed down below).
Once I had my newly configured copper pipes set up and soldered, I moved on to the Pex. I really do love PEX. It has made bathroom remodeling and plumbing so much easier. A lot of plumbers may disagree with me, but I personally stand by PEX and I have used it numerous times and in my own home with zero issues. Nothing but love for PEX here.
