Best Methods for Cutting Shower Floor Tile
Tiling a Shower doesn't have to be complicated or overwhelming π
First step is to template the shower floor area & reference to your shower floor tile
This is Merola Affinity Tile Hudson 2-in Hex Denim Blue 11-in x 13-in Glossy Porcelain Honeycomb Stone
Trace template and ensure there are no tile slivers π
The HYDROBLOK tile shower drain makes tile setting easy. You can offset drain grate to fit your tile layout π
Avoid cutting mosaic tiles on a wet sawβ¦.Sometimes backing on tiles can soften and allow tiles to pop off when setting.
I recommend using a good grinder and tile blade π
Levelin Tile Blade (use code: bathroomremodel for 10% off)
Polish any exposed edges of tile with a grinder
Levelin Polish Pad kit (use code: bathroomremodel for 10% off)
For perimeter cuts, I like to use a grinder with dust shroud π
Cut the line to provide a perimeter movement joint
Layout tile in shower ensure everything fits well π
3/16β thick tile will meet up evenly with the HYDROBLOK Tiling Grate with Wings
For thicker tiles, remove the wings and adjust drain to tile height
